Sounds interesting, a key ingredient in many boilie base mixes is semolina flour which is used to make pasta. I don't doubt it'll work, but you never know till you try!

Used to use elbows. Big hook + 1 piece of boiled pearled barley as a "lock".

Here's another "odd ball" bait i've seen old school carpers use: flour tortilla cut into very small (1in*1in*1in) triangles fished on a carolina rig using a small dropshot hook. It worked very well too.
