Thinking of buying a Terrova, and wondering how you like it? Ultrex won’t work for me (need 12V system). Thanks

I had had one (24 volts) & love it. I am old & not very agile & did some Cajun engineering to make it easier to raise it back into the boat.

I’m old too, and trying to make fishing a little easier and less tiring. Thanks for your input.

Love/hate relationship. If you’re very old then you might have issues with raising/deploying it.

I have one and like it. If you are used to cable steer the foot pedal will take some getting used too.
When fishing the bank, docks, weed lines, and etc. I will keep the autopilot on and use the pedal to make adjustments to the heading. You have to learn to trust the autopilot, it doesn't and can't be expected to track in a perfectly straight line. You're in water and the wind is very seldom perfectly still. If you will fight the urge to make minor corrections when you feel like the motor isn't tracking the motor will usually recover. Once you have confidence in the autopilot it is amazing how long you can go between corrections sometimes.
For fishing off-shore Spot-lock is really a game changer. Especially with the jog function.
I do not think you will regret buying a Terrova.

Went from a Fortex to a Terrova because of knee problems operating the petal, but deploying and stowing the Terrova is the pits so i went to a Ulterra and that is the best thing since sliced bread. Had back surgery in September and having knee surgery in February 11th but can still fish and operate trolling motor.

I have a 36V Terrova and it works okay but I absolutely hate the mount. Worst piece of Mickey Mouse plastic ever made and you have to do a balancing act on the nose of your boat each time you need to stow it.
Foot pedal took some time getting used to. I use the remote more than anything.

Get the Ulterra. It is a terova with electric deploy and stow and trim. I have had both and chose the Ulterra over the Ultrex.

I have one and love it. I only use the constant on switch and the right and left steer button with my toes, I don't use the foot pedal.

I use a 101-36v with a slide plate. Like it but it is difficult at times raising and lowering if your rods are on deck near the TM. Alson using a TH Marine trolling motor handle to raise. I will get a Ultrex next..

I had lost most of an extendable lure retriever. I took a piece of dowel that fitted snug in the open end of the retriever handle that I had left, drilled a guide hole in the center, stuck it in the retriever tube, secured it with a screw and epoxy, screwed in a screw hook ( at least 1/4"), epoxy it in for good measure. I placed a rope loop at the top of the motor shaft. When deploying I use the end of the pole to press the latch, when retrieving, I can reach the latch with my foot and hook the the rope loop with the hook on the pole and pull it up. You could use a aluminum tube, if you haven't been unfortunate enough to let the end of your retriever slide into the lake and disappear, just stick a bike handle bar grip on the end. I have heard of some tying a regular TM rope on the shaft and using that to pull it up, but I haven;t tried it. I hope this helps, good luck.
