If the fish are doing the same thing they did 20 years ago, you really don't need a guide. We used to always go around Memorial Day, get a cabin up on the river somewhere, and fish for 4 or 5 days. We primarily did one thing, split-shot rigs with light line, spinning tackle, and zoom centipedes. We would flip up toward the bank lined bushes and you could see those spots, all fighting to see who could get there the fastest. It was usually middle of spawn when we were there. I don't believe that we ever had a day that we didn't boat at least 100 fish. Avg size was 14-15" and sometimes 16"ers, but occasionally you would hook into a 4 or 5lb bass. Our biggest was around 7lbs but those were rare. Those spots can fight! That was some of my funnest fishing trips, but to answer your question, I do not know of any guides on that lake. We went with Eric of Focused Fishing Guide Service. Fishing was tough when we went in June but he def knows the lake. I would recommend him with 2 critiques. 1. He smokes so if that bothers you take that into consideration. 2. I know guides need to fish to figure out the bite but sometimes I felt a little front ended. He showed me how to read a graph better (def weakness I'm working on) so a big plus there. Overall nice guide that knows the lake really well. We did the 6 hour. Topwater early then switched to the dropshot. FIshing was really tough so we did stop and catch some big whites on a jigging spoon to help salvage the day.

I second the idea of not needing a guide. I went in August, it was the dog days of summer and still caught a ton of fish. Mostly small mouths on jigs and spots on drop shots. Graph around main lake structure like humps and points, especially humps, and you'll see fish and bait loaded. Drop shot, 1/2-3/4 oz jig, ned rig, and a jigging spoon is what caught all my fish. We were catching about 25 a day, that's not great, but I moved around a lot because it was my first time on the lake and wanted to see a lot of it. Left fish biting every time.

I would Consider Pete Wenners and Eric Prey. They both post a weekly YouTube fishing report for Table Rock. If you hire a guide, you don�t need to haul your boat and they fish the lake 200+ days per year and can probably get you on fish quicker than on your own. Beautiful, Deep, Clear lake. Good Luck!

Going again this April. Never been this early in the year, so it should be an adventure.

One year the fishing was so slow, we hired a guy for a 1/2 day. We stay at Big Cedar and got the people at the Bent Hook marina to get us a guide. He introduced us to the Ned rig. It has been a life saver for us.

You can try running up the rivers in June, less boats and a bit more like fishing in Texas.

Fished there 15 years ago w/ a guide,very disappointing trip,3 bass total I just wasn't that impressed with the lake or the guide,wish I could remember his name so everyone could be warned.

I did the same thing in 1995 went down for a week and hired Rick for the day, we got fish all day and he showed me all kinds of spots. We where there in July and the bite was jigging spoons, white spoons and silver spoons. Find some trees in 90 feet of water where the tree tops are about 30 feet down and start jigging the tree tops, If you don't get a bite in 5 or 10 minutes move. If you have kids fishing put on a nightcrawler with a big split shot and drop down into the tree tops.

Rick was pretty cool he said after today I better see you hitting all the spots I showed you all week, Even saw him a few days later when he pulled up on us in one of his spots and we fished beside each other and talked about how the bite was going.

I grew up in Southwest MO and fished TRL extensively, and still do a handful of times a year. Ozark Anglers is the only other fishing forum I�ve experienced that has the level of activity and responses as here on TFF, especially the Table Rock forum, which is the main one.

Eric Prey with Focused Fishing is potentially the most well known guide and posts a very good weekly written and video report.
Bill Babler with White River Outfitters is one of the most active members on the Ozark Anglers Table Rock forum, and over the years has always been amazingly generous with the information and detail he posts in regular reports.

I have personally never hired a guide on TRL, but my success on the White River chain as well as my overall growth in bass fishing I give a lot of credit to the information I�ve received from following these guys online.
