Any thoughts, comments on this? Im sure many of you have been using it for a while. I actually made one in my garage yesterday out of a heavy duty paper clip.

I ordered some the other day and am excited to chunk it around this spring. It looks and seems to be a very practical and tactical new rig. Simple and Im sure effective in situations where youd want a Tx/Carolina/punch hybrid..

Like you said, Im sure some folks have been throwing something similar, but I havent seen anything like it on the market yet.

I think you can accomplish the same thing by pegging your weight 3 to 4 inches above the bait.

I've been thinking about making some but using 25# fluro with a jig/trailer as the bottom weight.

I made one after seeing a video last year. I seem to get as many bites as traditional punching with it. Honestly cant tell must difference in hook up ratio either. But I never flip anything heavier than 1oz, for larger weights may make a difference. Cheap and simple to make.

I made a couple back in November and tried them out on Squaw before the bite dropped off. Used a 6 inch straight tail worm why partner used 7 inch powerworm. We both caught 30 or so. The biggest difference I noticed was I went a trip and half before I hung it up and broke it off. Usually hang up and break off 3 or 4 times a trip. Did spend quite a bit of time straightening the wire back out but that was on two pound fish catches so not a big problem.

I used the wire with the loops from lure part online. Looped ended wire shafts
Had to dig through some old hooks to find one with a big enough eye for the split rings I had.

Does the VMC one have a split ring or is it a welded loop?
Not sure if the swivel on the weight wire would make a huge difference but I did bend the wire so the end of the loop was on the back side and would not snag as easy. Bent it all the way around in a circle and not just a v as I found the v kept hanging when I tried it the first couple of cast. Never lost the weights it would just be bent out some.

I will probably just stick with Texas rig most the time just to keep things simple but can see it use on soft bottoms and such.
