Men,
Can you shed some light on my issue? I just found out yesterday that my Yamaha 250 Series 2 which is a 2008 model with approximately 350 hours has a bad piston in cylinder number 1. No warning devices ever went off. I bought the boat last year right before Thanksgiving and was very well maintained. I was told that the high pressure fuel pump was most likely the culprit as it probably dumped to much fuel causing it to run extra lean. I just wanted your thoughts and ideas. as to what might have happened. I have always used Yamalube and Ring Free. It bothers me to no end that a warning buzzer did not go off. Thanks and I look forward to your responses.

Clogged injector or low fuel pressure could be the cause.

It could be injectors the high pressure filter and it might be running hot water pump weak. we can fix you up and check all horns. need to get a down load and see what codes it has.

Thanks for the responses men. A complete tune up was done in July with all filters replaced. I suspect that based on the carbon buildup the previous owner probably wasn't running any additives to the fuel or ran the ring free. I also know that too much idling and graph reading without getting her up to higher rpm's could have caused her failure. I know there is a reason why my blood pours black-as in a Merc! Regards!
