My aunt was buried today at 96 years of age. I knew she had worked for the same company a long time, but discovered today, she was there 61 years. Went to work for them at 18 and retired at 78.
That's got to be a record these days

When the company I was working for shut down in 99 there were guys there like that. Got a job there after coming home from WWII and had been there ever since.

Good friend of my grandfather worked for Gifford hill for sixty some odd years. He also owned and operated a company that sold gaskets to GH. Worked into his late 80’s until their company insurance would no longer cover him driving.
He’s soon to be 95.

WOW! And I thought my BIL's 41 years was long! It takes a special person and/or company to stay somewhere that long. Nowadays, most companies want to "go a different direction" or have to "restructure" about every 6-7 years.

Frisbee Electric is who she worked for. And I was incorrect, she went to work for them at 24 yrs old so she retired at 85 yrs old. It's something you don't hear often for sure.

Lost a cousin a couple of years ago @ 93 years old. She was a beautician and worked a day the week before she passed. Her last 50+ years was at a shop in Casa View.

The company I work for will allow me to work as long as I can make it to the office. Years ago I asked how much vacation I got and the reply was "we don't track it for your position, how much do you need, you have a cell phone we give you." as long as I continue to maintain the mental ability to solve problems and take care of customers I am good to go. That is more important to them than age. Besides younger people don't have the experience to take my job.
