Has anyone used an underwater camera on lake fork 15 to 30 feet. Does it work ? I just want to verify what I find on depth finder when things look great on screen but I can not buy a bite, Thanks in advance for any info.

I think there are quite a few fishermen using cameras, they may be tight lipped about it, I know i had a buddy drop one down in a brush pile on Texoma and it looked like an aquarium full of fish down there, it was about 20-25 feet.

Not on fork but use aqua view where I go. Pretty neat to watch fish swim up to it. When I used it offshore I had to be careful because the trigger fish would peck at it but everything else left it alone for most part. I did have a blue cat try to eat it on Fayette once.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

We could see the fish plain as day on Texoma, the fish are very curious to the camera, they would swim up to it, you can get one that plugs into your graph and view it on the big screen now. You can put it on an extension pole and look up under docks, it is pretty much fun to use.

Soon they will have mini underwater drones. That will be amazing.

My son designed an underwater drone for his masters degree in engineering.

Depends on water clarity. Most our lakes aren't very clear at that depth

Jaret is right.

Doesnt do much good on Fork as the water isn't very clear. I've done it and could see maybe a foot max. It has to be pretty clear for even decent results. Also a calm day helps when as well clear water because as they are hard to control. Hope this helps

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Which is sad, Fork used to be a pretty clear lake long ago.
