I am a long time Lewisville Lake sand bass/hybrid fisherman and keep my boat on the lake. My grand nephew is moving to Dallas next month and he prefers to fish for black bass. Where should I be looking for black bass on Lewisville, from my boat, starting in April. Thanks.

In April, you can fish just about anywhere on the lake and do well. Depending on the water level, just go find some good looking bushes and flip into every one of them with just about any plastic. Focus on 3foot bushes, the ones just outta sight. I suggest to stay with some variation of H2Omelon color. Creature baits work well. Try to flip those bushes where others may not get to. Your best bet is see how close to the root base you can land. Lew fish nose straight up to the thickest part, and then just sit there. Hit 'em on the head and you're golden. They may just look at it if it's a foot away. Good luck and I hope your grand nephew catches an absolute trophy. They're in there!

Hickory creek arm. In April they will be moving off spawn patterns and staging in 6-8 ft water. Under water island before the Northern creek turn. Water temp is key that time of year.
