There is a boatlane that stops about half way up the San Miguel arm. I am looking for info on running north to the back past the boat lane. Any info is appreciated. Feel free to pm.

The boat lane ends 2/3 the way back. The rest of the basin is one hump after the other. The Creek channel is right down the middle; but very crooked; but the timber is not heavily wooded. If the Boat Ramp is Public, that is where I would put in to fish the upper basin and idle through it.

The back of the main creeks on Toledo are typically heavily wooded if there is no marked lane. You better know your route in lots of places like San Miguel

that's what i figured. i had heard that the creed channel had silted in and it was hard running. I will probably launch at the back and hope to find someone to follow out to the main lake and run well behind them just in case.

it's one of those things where since I will be fishing a tournament I probably wouldn't make that run anyway.....lots of water to fish before the back of that arm

I have run to the islands and see people running further. I just don't go fast.

I've fished 'Sammy Gil' since the mid 80's and have seen it when the lake was pretty low. The lane does stop right before the islands, and the big point on the right hand side, just like Donald said. From there it is a flat with 2 creeks that snake through there on either side, but following them is not an option. They are lined with timber but most has broke off over the years. Put it down and just idle from there. To idle to the bridge is only ~ 15 minutes anyway. Now, I've seen people (locals) run all the way to the ramp that's on the road (482) and also to the ramp behind that canal development but they either know something I don't, or are just lucky. Hope this helps.
