I have been using a spinning rod with light braid and catching a lot of fish in and around grass. just wondering how many I am missing in clearer water and around docks. I was at one point many moons ago using co polymer but had trouble with line twists.

Tie a fluoro leader onto the braid.

Use a super tiny swivel about 2 ft up to help with line twist

I do not throw a weightless fluke. I throw mine on a 1/0 swivel, about 18" up the line. Gets it to swimming down and forward and giving the bait action. Been doing this since late 1990s. If it ain't broke, do NOT try to fix it. I am a big fan f the aforementioned Dobyns rods. I throw them in the Champion series, though, but GREAT RODS for this application. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

That's how I fish my weightless brush hogs around lay downs sometimes. I guess I will try It with a fluke and see how it works

Since some people are now responding. I have read a lot about what line to use pitching. I have been using braid in grass and muddy water. But now wondering if I should be using flouro for line visibility in clearer water and around docks and lay downs. Does the braid make as much difference with visibility when pitching jigs around docks. I hate to have two different setups just for pitching.
