Hello all, during my time at home for Christmas I tied my first few jigs. My dad is a fly fisherman and has a vice and all the accessories, and I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm really excited about the purple color. All the jigs shown are tied with marabou tails. I have some deer hair ones not shown that I wasn't too impressed with because they didn't move very much in the water. I'd love some feedback about how yall tie and with what materials. I think its a blast and definitely something ill be doing more of...Thanks.

Those will catch fish. Watch some video's and you find everybody tie's a little bit different. Just a word of advice it is almost as addicting as catching them.

Me likes white, and I use marabou a bunch, and they will all ketch fish. And deer hair doesn't move much, it isn't you. My only suggestion is to stop/ start the body material at the hook point. Going further back with small hooks could affect hook set... thumb

They do look good and they probably will catch. My most important thing when tying is to make sure the jig will stay together.
Nothing is worse than fishing a jig and it comes apart after you have caught a few fish.

Nice, I like marabou jigs. I havent been putting much or any flash in the tail lately, but even if you do put in flash, you can pull some out if you think it might be hurting the bite. Better to have it, then remove it later than try to add some after tying.
