Sorry if this is a duplicate I have looked and can't seem to find any thread on it.

Is Caney Creek Ramp Open? Where can I find an updated list.... My buddy and I were heading down to Rayburn to fish the Rat Trap tourney, but it ended up being postponed which is a smart move! We are still wanting to go and launch at Caney and stay right there and learn the area since it blocks the N/NW/W wind

I know cassel boykin is open correct? From the maps, it looks like it has an angle to the northwest... Is it deep enough into that cove to where rollers wont swamp the boat while loading-unloading

Sorry for the questions, I usually launch at umphreys or mill creek... this part of the lake will be completely new to us and wanting to stay off the main lake.

This list is up to date as of today.

The new ramp beside the pavilion at Cassels Boykin will not close. We got way more to worry about than fishing if it gets too high to launch there. It will be fairly protected from a NW wind.
The old ramp at Cassels Boykin is very useable. Just look for the yellow lines to keep you off the rocks that divide the ramps. It's not very protected from a NW wind.
Jackson HIll is still open but it's high up on the ramp. It's protected pretty decent from a NW wind.
If there's a NW wind you do NOT want to launch at the Public Ramp by Umphrey Pavilion. It also wouldn't surprise me if they close this ramp very soon.
Shirley Creek will be protected from a NW wind.
Powell Park will be protected from a NW wind. KInda a long ways around to that side of the lake to launch here though.
McAllister will be good to launch forever. It's just WAY up the Attoyac. Pretty protected from NW wind.

Yeah that's why we were wanting to get away from umphreys. The worse part on the ake to launch from in that weather... Thank you for the list and the helpful info!

Rain coming soon and watching the news in Beaumont.. they dont plan on releasing water.. if I remember right we are within 1/2 a foot of a record crest.. 175.1 I think it was..
if the wind blows like they say 25 NW I might drive down just to see how much water is splashing up over the 147.. might be some cool pics!

Closing the Public Ramp was not necessary. It is very much usable.

The Spillway is at 176 so quite a bit more to go before that happens.

The lake crested yesterday but that was before the rains showed up so it might go back up a little.

The Angelina River at 59N (between Lufkin and Nacogdoches) has went down considerably but that doesn't translate to the lake dropping as fast.

Oh yea. It will take a good bit to get to 176 but theres some rain in the forecast the next 2 days. At the acreage it's at right now 2 more feet is a [censored] load of water.

Lake didn't crest yesterday. It's higher today than yesterday.
