A group us will be going to Baccarac next month or 4 days of fishing. This will be a first time for all of us so I was hoping to get some experienced advice on what to expect in regards to tipping the guides and lodge staff. Was looking to find out about what is typically expected from each person per day. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Funny how tipping and your guide putting you on fish work out.

$20 a day is the suggested amount. Most anglers give more ($30-$40) Some give $50-$100. I only give $20 if I felt the guide was not working hard. Working hard gets $40. Working hard and catching big ones earns even more. You can never go wrong by being a generous person.

Do you plan on going back again in the future? If so, tip well and they'll take really good care of you. They've got sweet spots that they take their good customers to and spots for everyone else.

Before you tip them, have them take you to where they live. You can't believe what some of those people have to live like. So, I always tip a minimum of $50 per day.

And, if you catch a fish over 10, dang sure better get that $100 out for them!

I think the average household income is less than 12k per year. If you can afford to book a 4 day trip to Barracac, you can probably afford NOT to be a stingy tipper!
