Will getting my boat re-carpeted shortly. Is front/rear deck padding worth the extra $

Most definitely for the front deck where you would normally stand on TM. Not so much for the whole deck, though....

How much extra are they wanting to charge you? Just curious.

Absolutely worth it on front deck. Legs don't feel nearly as tired after a long day standing on the TM.

I've always wondered if the padding holds in moisture under the carpet and on your decking. Anyone had experience with it doing any damage beyond normal wear and tear? I put padding on the front deck of my old boat and it for sure helped my feet! Noticeably more comfortable for sure. But I only had the boat for about a year after I put the new carpet and pad in it before I sold it.

Yes it's worth it and do the whole front deck. You'll regret not doing it if you don't

Absolutely worth it. My whole front deck and compartment lids are padded and as soon as it warms up I start wearing flip flops and fish barefoot most of the time. Without the padding my feet start to ache after an hour or two.

the padding is closed cell foam, so it doesnt retain water too much more than no padding at all.

Cheap upgrade. Really a nice comfortable touch. Dont know what it costs as an option from factory but inexpensive upgrade when recarpeting. Heck, many advertise on here as free front deck pad with a recarpet order.
