Ike's in Tulsa has 3 way chili, but at least the chili doesn't suck.

It ain't the whole putting it on spaghetti that makes it gross. It's the cocoa and cinnamon.

I was called to Cincinatti once to help their techs with a down paging terminal. I fixed it pretty quick and everybody wanted to party. They took me to Skyline. I ordered chili 3ways. Everybody was so sure I would love it. She sat it down in front of me. It smelled strange. I spooned up some chili and put it in my mouth. WTF? Gag reflex kicked in, I spat it back on the plate and pushed the plate away. Drank a couple glasses of ice tea to wash the nasty out of my mouth. It was pretty quiet at the table while they finished eating. I think it was loaded with cinnamon and Hersheys cocoa. And the place was packed.

I tried it at my step son's wedding. You know when in Rome. Only took a bite. Had serious heartburn the rest of the day. I grew up eating spicy food in San Antonio. Never get heartburn. Ever. Haven't tried it since. Tried Gold Star also. No heartburn, but bad enough to not try again.

Why? What is it then if it is not chili? I don't like beans in my chili, but I also don't mind it. Why is everyone against beans in their chili??

In any dispute the intensity of feeling is inversely proportional to the value of the issues at stake.

I like chili with beans and without. I like chili with ground meat or diced meat. I like chili with cornbread, fritos, on hotdogs and I even tried some on pasta because it was what my 2yo was eating and it was pretty good too. Chili with or without tomatoes. Chili with or without cheese. Chili with or without onions. It's all good too me. One kind of chili i do not like is chili without the damn chili pepper. You know... because that's really what makes chili chili and not stew or carne guisada or something.
