Was just at Walmart in Center and noticed that on the new gas pumps they put in it has a separate nozzle for "unleaded ethanol free". $2.44 per gallon Regular 87 with ethanol was $1.84 ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/01/full-60623-242230-20190107_123832.jpg)

Most premium gas pumps here are labeled...alcohol free.

Our Murphy has had it for a year or two now, it usually cost about .50 more per gallon; but oh well. It goes into the boat, 4 Wheeler & UTV.

The lead free/ethanol free has MTBE which is a much worse water contaminant than ethanol. Never had a problem using the ethanol enhanced gas, but if it is a problem, it is because the manufacturers haven't updated the components that are not affected.

Ive had Ethenol gas go bad in my GMC and my Gator. It makes a real mess. All my small engines now run Ethenol free fuel.

Never had a problem running ethanol gas in anything. What kind of outboards do you run? 2001 Merc 225. I bought it new in 2001. Never had an ounce of any additive or stabilizer. Not one problem

donothin : So your unhappy about MTBE and its impact on the environment ? Nothing to do with it causing fuel related problems similar to Ethanol and water phase separation ? I just want clarification on what you found to be negative about it . I did search for the related problems and all I could find is articles about how severely it contaminates water and causes health issues .
It appears that all petroleum based fuel whether leaded / unleaded / oxygenated of one form or another contaminates the environment in one form or another .

They have it in Rockwall now too. Next time I get the boat out I am getting 50-60 gallons. Oil is already going back up and gasoline is right behind.

I hope they switch over at my local gas station.
I will by corn free gas all the time. More power per gallon. Gasahol is garbage.
