With warmer temperatures and a blue sky I decided to try Lake Mcqueeney again. Myself and fishing buddy Jeff launched our Kayaks on the main lake and fished from 11am till 2p. The bite was a lot better than the last time I fished Mcqueeney. We caught over 30 fish with all but five being non sunfish. Bluegill in the 7 to 9 inch range, and Redbreast in 8 to 9 inch range were caught. Rounding out the catch were three nice Crappie and two Bass. Crappie and bass were caught on Jigs Chartreuse/Pink in color. The sunnies were caught on a wide range of small spinning lures working a slow retrieve. Little Georges,Rooster Tails, and Gold Panther Martin Lures got good results. Lost a nice bass using the Panther Martin. All fish were released to fight again. Water temperature was 61 degrees with a strong current. Water was stained to cloudy due to previous rain. Will be hitting the Rainbow Trout tomorrow!

Nice post as always LO. Until the discharge on Canyon Lake goes down and stays down, it will be a hit and miss winter on the river lakes. Who knows may go into spring as well.
