I fish Amistad on a regular basis. During one of our tournaments there were two boats (not ours) that took on water. TPWD had to risk their lives to get those boaters back to dry land. When those big rollers get going on that lake, you don't want to be on it. I myself don't like reading about missing boaters. 2cents

Diablo East is a direct hit from a NW wind, aweful position to un-load/load, top that with 130 boats in an area not big enough for 60 and its a complete disaster at 20 mph, dam near impossible at 30 +.

I'm here fishing it and it was the right call. I appreciate these guys looking out for angler safety and making the tough calls and then taking the heat for them from the "armchair tournament pros". Besides, it allowed my wife and I time to go to the movies today. The fish will still be there tomorrow.

Im not saying they shouldnt have cancelled but since they put the breakwater in launching and loading in high winds isnt nearly the issue it used to be.

I fished the Okeechobee tournament when Nik got killed and the conditions at launch were not bad. His boater ran into rough water farther south in his run down the lake. Areas of any lake can be bad in one area and ok in others. FLW director made a safe call with the info he had at the time. Anglers safety is paramount !

I agree Lee, wind is no big deal in Diablo since they did that.

What a great field of anglers they have in this tournament. Can't wait to see the results after tomorrow.
