Fixing to start the New Year. Weather will be cooler with a chance of some rain mid week. Weather forecast does not look all that bad. Who is fishing New Years Week?

I plan to fish at least one day this week. Maybe make a run to the coast, Friday looks like the best weather day for the coast.

That trip would be in addition to a couple of afternoon runs to the river lakes or MAYBE Canyon....I am a glutton for punishment, I guess.

Will be hitting Dunlap for sure this week. Will also try to catch a few trout!

I would LOVE to catch some trout of the freshwater variety.

There is a trout stocking schedule on the Texas Parks&Wildlife Web Site. You can check to see if a stocking is taking place in the area where you are living. Stockings are once a week on the Guadalupe River along the lower end of the Canyon Lake Trail Race. There are also several State Parks that stockings take place at,all listed on the TPW Web Site.

I need to get down to canyon lake dam and give it a try. I did a few years ago and did no good at all.

Try Huaco Springs off of River Road. You will have more room to fish. The day of the stocking you will usually have the most people show up. I personally like to fish a day or two after the stocking. The stockings are every Friday until February.

No fishing plans this week. May be a catfish trip or a white bass trip in the very near future!

I'll hit either Chandler or Tyler State Park (and maybe both) during the week for trout. Haven't had the tube out in quite awhile and Tyler is always good to float around on.
