So Im watching a YouTube video of a tournament two guys are in. They have a limit. Both are throwing a-rigs so we have to assume they are legal in this event. Angler one catches a double and swings them in the boat. Angler two then catches a fish and swings it aboard. Counting the fish in livewell they now have 8 fish on the boat.

Are they now disqualified for having too many fish on board?

As long as they cull before making the next cast they're good

If every time you had a limit you would be disqualified because you had too many fish in the boat every time you culled. You would be done every time you caught 5. There would be no such thing as culling!

Just guessing but I think if at least one team member is in the act of culling then all is good. That's what happens in other tournaments. One guy culls and the other keeps fishing.

I think it is how many fish in the livewell.

As long as they don't put 6 in the livewell while continuing to fish they are good to go.

Texas allows Five fish per Person in possession on most lakes so you would be legal according to the State with Ten fish on board.

The tournament director makes the rules for that particular event. Most say you are only allowed to have 5 fish in the livewell at any time. That is why it is so important to know the rules for each event you fish.

Don't ask me how I found that out! bang
