Looking for opinions on some flat sided crankbaits that throw like darts! I like the KVD 1.5 flat but it seems like 50% of my casts end up erratic....the other 50% flies like a dream. So what do y’all like that runs about 10ft and throws true and straight?

We really need a bigger version of that crank. I love the kvd 1.5 flat but it's kinda light and hard to throw in the wind. I wish they made a kvd 2.5 flat side.

Try lighter line and rod possibly.
Lob casts also minimize the bait helicoptering.

If you're throwing a 1.5 that runs 10 feet deep you probably have lead line or 2lb test with a 40 yard cast!!
In all seriousness go to the longest rod you can stand in a medium action rod. That bait is light and length of the rod is Paramount in casting length. I suggest 12lb test flouro. Wind will make it erratic always. Keep casting it and you will get better.
The flat side I throw is lighter than what you're talking about.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just to clarify....I never stated my setup got to 10ft.....but I bet it gets close. Just want to make sure you are understanding the bait I am referencing. It’s not the square bill 1.5. I am looking for a flat side that does achieve that estimated depth and castability. If you're throwing a 1.5 that runs 10 feet deep you probably have lead line or 2lb test with a 40 yard cast!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I love the 100-200’s. I am sure that’s a great choice. I have never seen it in my local stores.....or have just overlooked them! Bandit flatt max if they still make em

Flat Maxx deep touches ten ft
Use a medium rod and lighter line to minimize helicoptering Or use a spinning rod with 20lb braid mainline to cast these lighter lures

If you can find them anywhere - Lucky Craft Flat CB D-12 cast great and dives to 12ft (supposedly) but around 9-10ft is optimal for me. I know tackle warehouse has the D-20's but I have confidence in crankbaits at that depth and couldn't speak to their value.
Added note - these are not the flatest flat sided crakbaits on the market if that is what you are looking for.
