Just a heads up that the Crappie Max rods are on sale at Bass Pro with free shipping. I know a lot of people on here are not a fan of Bass Pro branded products, but this is a really good rod at a great price. I’ve got a couple and I’m probably going to get a couple more. They’re on sale for $29.88 from $49.99. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-crappie-maxx-pro-series-crappie-rods

I have had bad experiences with these rods. Had 2 break on hooksets in the same place about midway up the rod. Owned several other rod brands and have never had another break on a hookset like this brand did.

I too have had one break about half up on a hookset. Hopefully it was just a bad batch of rods.

how hard do you have to set the hook on a Crappie,...? I have several Crappie Maxx poles, my wife had a 10 pound catfish run under the boat and broke the tip. other than that I like em just fine..
