I lived in New Orleans for three years. The Acme Oyster Bar was my favorite. I never could find a Po boy that came near any in New Orleans until recently. Just took my daughter there for lunch. Introducing Tads Po Boy in Katy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2018/12/full-50176-241136-image.jpg) We split one and still didn't finish the bun.

Never had one. Looks good. Ever had fried oysters with fries? We didn't eat the bread.

A number of places you can get a decent one in Houston. BB's, Boudreauxs, Pappadeaux's, Floyd's, Goode Company, etc.
Key for me is the bread. Also being able to get a decent cup of gumbo. To me Floyds is probably the best. However there I usually get the fried shrimp and onion rings. Floyd is Floyd Landry.....100% coonass. He used to be at the original Clear Lake location all the time. He was a character. Everything was LSU Tigers.
I will have to give Tads in Katy a try next time I am out that way.

My fav po boys are the flounder/grilled shrimp combo at Goode Company and the red snapper po boy at Red Snapper Inn in Surfside.

if you're in the Galveston area, try the shrimp or oyster po boy at Louies' bait and restaurant on Hwy 6 and Highland Bayou in Hitchcock. really more in Bayou Vista. get the big nasty. it's awesome! i like the shrimp/oyster combo.

We're pretty slim pickings on good seafood in Bell County but we have 2 "The Catch" restaurants opened here lately and they have a good oyster po boy as well.
