Today is the first day the holiday break from teaching. So of course I had to go wet a line. Drove on over to Chandler and I had the place all to myself.



They were pretty active today. Turned 5 or 6 loose and kept the ones above. All of them took bait with about an equal split between FireBalls and Gulp nuggets in corn flavor. They were all hanging close to the bank and I don't think any of them came from more than 10 feet out. Mrs Chief asked me what we were going to do for lunch when I got home. Here was my answer:



Fried rainbows, homemade Mac&cheese and a spicy cocktail sauce. Hard to get a better lunch than that.

Hit Chandler again today. Pulled another limit like the one above. I also got a couple 12 inch channel cats. I never you could catch catfish on salmon eggs but apparently you can.

Banker, to answer your question they stock Chandler about 3 times during trout sason. Doesnt look like many people are hitting it this year. Both today and yesterday I had the place to myself.

Thanks Flags! So far there have been some good turn outs on the stocking days. After that the crowds thin out a lot. A couple of the stockings in rural areas had no crowds at all. The stockings down here will continue until February.

Great post and some nice fish Flags! Love getting information about the bite in different parts of the state. Down here it's been Gold Super Duper Lures and Berkley Trout Bait-Cheese Colored. Wonder how Fireballs and Gulp Nuggets will work? May do some experimenting. Again great post !
