I have 9 month old 24V 80lb. Model. Today while fishing, the motor began to make metal on metal screeching sound when running the motor. I sounds like its behind the prop in the motor housing. My question is do I remove the prop and investigate or doing this void my warranty? Looking for some advise and direction on how to proceed with this issue. Any comments and info. are greatly appreciated. Thanks

This 1st and if no line check to see if the noise is still present. If so then it is to the repair shop it goes. Did the prop hit anything before the motor started making the noise?

That link won't work for the Xi5. You need the Motorguide link.

Removed the prop, no fishing line to be found. No visible damage to any part of the prop. I took a short video of the sound (noise) the TM makes when you hand turn the prop in both directions. Doesnt sound good, Ill be happy to send it to anyone if you provide a cell # I can send it to. Thanks and I appreciate all of the advise.
