My brother and I fish in a 600 acre lake for crappie and bass. It's a great lake, however, the maximum depth on the entire lake is 6 - 7 feet deep. It is loaded with cypress trees.

Any recommendations on areas we should focus on in a relatively shallow lake?

Is the water clear? Is there any other cover besides the trees?

Pretty clear. You can see about 18 inches. The lake has salvinia but they are working to control it.

I would fish the salvinia or trees. If there a ton of both, you will have to cover water and may only pick up a fish or 2 here and there. Too much cover tends to spread them out.

Sounds like Flag Lake on Barksdale. We used to do pretty good jigging the cypress trees and fishing grass shrimp under a cork!
