BUT, it can be at ANY DMV in the state of Texas, not just your local one.

If you don't have any tickets & such, It might be time for a new picture.

No Pressure.... they gonna test your vision. They make you come in for that every 5 years or so. I have renewed mine online the last couple times.

And I know who "Jeff" is.

Good luck here in DFW. I had to renew mine in October.. i went to two of their supercenters or whateher they're called and the wait was over 3 hours at both. I renewed mine while down at the coast in Aransas Pass. In and out in less than 20 minutes.

I've heard they are now requiring people to prove legal residence with birth certificate to renew your license. My brother got a letter from the DMV requesting he renew in person.

The state should have my Birth Certificate, I would call BS on that. Since I was born here. Proof of insurance of course. Always required on a renewal.

Getting a drivers license renewal is not prima facia evidence that you have a car or drive. (I’ve always wanted to use that in an OT post). No proof of insurance needed.

The mega centers used to be great as you could make an appointment and be out in 30 minutes or so. Now that is a beating. The one in Carrollton has lines with maybe a 100 people standing on line outside and those places are big with probably 50 clerks. The small area offices may be the ticket.
