I have never been accused of being a good fisherman, and I do enjoy fishing Fork, even when it is tough. But this is ridiculous. What do you Fork pros think about it's future, I'm concerned myself. I have always thought that January as my favorite month to fish it and this year I haven't a clue. Are we looking at the next Lake Tawakoni?

Fork will be fine.

Fish where the bait is will help you catch numbers.

Weekend before last, in the really cold rain and wind, I had one of my best weekends for numbers in the last couple years.

Look for shad balls and fish all around them.

Kind of wish the lake was down a couple feet now. Pretty confident with a jig, but fishing it blind or by memory has me lost, hate putting it down though
this time of year. That and I don't adapt well, rather not A-rig due to recent shoulder work.

Do you know something that we don’t?

Good point Steez, I got a weekend place out there and I'll just keep plugin away. I'm just as far off now as I have ever been. I see all or most of the guides running off to Welsh is why I asked what everybody thought of it's future. Thanks for the tip!

What's wrong with Tawakoni?.....its loaded with fish, has a fair amount of good ones and does not get a ton of pressure.

Mark should be quiet! Tawakoni is a mud hole!

Yes sir. You are correct. No fish in that mudhole.

Where were all the tawakoni lovers in the Thursday evening tournaments? Its a fun lake. Fork is better, imo.

Fork will never again be what it was back in the day, but shes still better than just about anything else in our area. Cold water lakes are tough right now, temps are still working on bottoming out and fish are down right uncooperative. The good days on Fork are few and far between, but a good day out there can be magical and erase memories of the previous 5 trips that were awful. Thats what keeps me going back. Wait till BASS gets out there this year with a full field, they will smash em... but for now when guides are telling customers that 3-5 bites in a full day is all that should be expected on Fork right now Id pick another lake, unless the day Im going is the 3rd or 4th good sunny day in a row.

Get some minners, go after crappy, you'll catch more bass than a 5 day artificial.
Fork has been. "Strange" this year .....last year was pretty good, this whole year has been hit or miss. I know for a fact we've had 45+ fish days, not just Kay an me but Sinkey and Shanda have to in April-july ----deepish...
It's nice to have place on fork.
