Bridgeport is a hidden gem that many folks don't know about. With all the rains this year and 2015, it should be close to pool, if not at pool. Many dry years before it was 10-15 foot below pool. Good Winter and Spring to try it out and though it's more of a haul for me, I may run out when the crappie bite is on. If it was a little closer or easier to get to I'd go there a lot. Fun lake to fish and so many places. Love fishing the river. Anytime you need an Aggie alum partner, sir, lemme know. I'll help with the gas. Yes, the river below on the West Fork of the Trinity I hear is good too. It's a hard drive for me Big Cat. I live east of Dallas and the route is loaded with traffic and yayhoo drivers that do not like folks who fish when they have to work. I went on a Saturday and the traffic wasn't too bad but the lake was a little crowded. Even so I had a great time flipping bushes up the river. I thought about going around McKinney and going 380 but it's the long way around and traffic is not much better. Just easier for me to head east to fish.

Love that area where the river winds into the marina and main lake during the fall color change

Went there today and this is going to become a go to spot for me. Close enough to the house and or just rent a cabin if I want to stay a few days. Tons of potential and I feel once there is more structure placed in the water the fish will be there in better numbers. Alan the owner seems like a good guy too so looking forward to seeing him succeed!

I was able to get out there on Saturday. Started of slow. Ended up with 13 keepers out of about 30 fish. Placed some structure in slip #4 Got a bite two hours later after putting it in. I agree with you Crappie Brother. I really want Allen to succeed. Here is a pic of a few of the minnows I caught.

hey guys and Gals. I get nothing from my post about Northside Marina on Lake Bridgeport. i just Love the place and i want everyone to have a chance to visit a nice place and catch some fish. Well Allen called me today and informed me that the fishing is picking up and the cabins are filling up. So go out spend a few days out there and try to get a fish or two.

OK Guys. The crappie are staging. Went this weekend and got a dozen or so. So the spawn will not be far behind.

Went there over the weekend. It is a nice place, I fished the marina boat dock, caught a few. The people who own/run it are very nice. The one thing, if you have never been there to watch out for, is it is located on a steep hill side. Be prepared to walk down 2 flights of very steep steps. I think there is kind of a lift that can help part of the way down if needed. Plus have to climb it back up when leaving. I will be 72 this year and was able to make it, but I would not want to walk up and down more than twice in one day.

Agreed with Big_CatEM this is a gem. A long ways away. but if you plan on needing a place to stay for a few days the fishing is a bonus. The water now is 25-30 feet deep. i have fished it when it was 3-5 feet deep. So i have seen ever level of it. Great place to take the family also. LET ME GRAB my tackle iam in for it may have to ck. it out. Thanks.
