Finally got to wet a line today. Been away from the water for too long. Stopped by Chandler to see how the action was after the first stocking. Kind of a strange day on Chandler. Normally I tear them up on Kastmasters and FireBalls but I couldn't buy a fish on either today so I had to experiment. The water is a fair amount higher than normal so that may have something to do with it. I found the ticket after playing with different baits. Today all they wanted were Berkely Power Nuggets in corn flavor fished less than 10 feet from the bank with a small split shot to hold it on the bottom.

The fish ran a little smaller than I normally get there. Biggest was about 11 inches. Talked to another guy and he noticed the same thing. Smaller fish and they also stocked fewer than normal. But a limit for the pan is a limit for the pan.

I was in CO a little bit ago. I wanted to do some trout fishing there but the weather was bitterly cold and windy. Several days had a high temp of 12 or 13 degrees. Most of my go to places were iced over but the ice wasn't thick enough for ice fishing. But that wasn't the reason I went anyways. I had to do some work on a place I own there and I also had a deer tag. Filled the tag with a nice doe, shot in a hay meadow on a family friends ranch. Drove the truck right up to her.

The freezer has a good amount of meat in it and I have one more week to work at the school and we shut down for the holidays until Jan 6. Life is good here in East TX. Cheers Y'all!

Yesenia, You and Leo should take your ultralights along with some of your homemade jigs/baits to Garner State Park and catch you some Rainbow Trout. Simply Delicious. thumb

Side Note: Make sure the hooks are the small trout hooks! cheers Also the general store on the camp grounds carries the Berkley Cheese Colored Trout Bait. hooked
