Great question. For what I have been reading over the years I would say Florida holds the largest population of big Bluegill. Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and South Carolina will follow in that order. Just my two cents.

Spent nearly 5 years in FL and I caught a lot and I mean a lot of really big ones there. Just about any puddle you could find there had sunfish in them and with no cold weather they are feeding heavy all year long.

BFD...before Fairfield died Texas had it hands down...but AFD after Fairfield died I would say that North Carolina now holds the biggest bluegills in the USA: https://www.wideopenspaces.com/nothing-monster-bluegills-north-carolina-lake-video/check out Richmond Mills. p,s, of course that's not counting private ponds which rumor has it contain the World's largest bluegills.

Way back when I was a kid I lived in Florida. I can remember me and my Dad fishing for Bluegill. We caught some huge ones in a small lake not far from our house. Those memories will last a lifetime.

Gitter...Not sure about Bluegill, but I know Lake Havasu in Arizona has the biggest red ear of anywhere in the world. As far as numbers, I would agree with Florida...
