I am thinking about going to Toledo Bend Bream fishing next Spring. I havent been there in many years and never fished for bream there. My question, is one area of the lake better than another for this type fishing, lower lake, mid lake or north, upper end of the lake. Thanks for any inputs.

TB is a great BIG BASS lake. Where ever there are big bass you will have BIG sunfish. During the spring time the sunfish get active. The first spawn of the year will also take place. I have not fished TB in a very long time so do not have any current information on that lake as for spots to fish and patterns to look for. Usually during the spring months I fish close to both gravel and sand banks. Look for grass beds and lily pads. Also look for reed beds. Fish water 4 to 8 feet deep. I always use live worms for bait. Good luck. TB is a large water body but sunfish are usually easy to find. thumb

TB is a large lake, sixty some odd miles long I believe. I am not asking for anyones fishing spot. Telling me that mid lake is preferred over the lower or upper lake areas, or any one over the other is not giving up a fishing spot. There is still 20 miles of water to find the spots in and that will be up to me. This is not bass fishing we are talking about, those guys wont tell anyone what time the sun comes up.

I fished the north end of TB a lot in the 80's. Fished with a cane pole and caught some big bluegill on crickets. When they were bedding I would ease around in a cove until I could smell them. They give off a real strong fishy smell when bedding. Then I'd start dropping my line in the water till I found the bed. I'd fill an ice chest pretty quick. Was a l of fun. Good Luck

Thanks slim, I know the type water to look for and I would think that the north or upper end would hold more of that type water but I have not been on TB since the 1970s. I only Bass fished in those days and remember the odor. I knew what it was but was not interested in fishing for them. I only Bass fished the mid-lake areas in those days, so this is the reason for the question.
