Got to fish all three of my days off this week! clap Fished from the kayak on Wednesday while fishing both Lake Dunlap and Lake Mcqueeney. Fished Lake Dunlap from 9am till 2pm. The bite was slow until around 10:30am. Caught two Redear in the 10" range, several Bluegill in the 7 to 9 inch range, several Redbreast in the 8 to 10 inch range, some nice Hybrid Sunfish in the 8 to 9 inch range and several bass in the 2 to 4 pound range rounded out the catch. Most of the sunfish were caught using White/Red,and Yellow/Green Rooster Tails with a slow retrieve. The sunnies were located in 8 to 12 feet of water by docks. The bass were caught using small crank baits with a medium retrieve in water 10 to 16 feet deep by ledges and drop offs. All fish were released. I then met up with my fishing buddy Jeff and we fished Lake Mcqueeney from 3p to dark in our Kayaks. The bite was slow but we did manage five nice Crappie that we pulled off on a brush pile in 15 feet of water. The Crappie were caught on jigs Chartreuse/Black in color. Fish were released.

12-13-18 Due to windy conditions I fished a local creek from the bank. I fished from 10am till 2pm and managed several nice Bluegill in the 7 to 8 inch range, three bass in the 1 to 2 pound range, and a bunch of Longear in the 5 to 6 inch range. All fish were caught on the fly using a Brown Sinking Wacky Worm and a Sinking Orange Lady Bug. The wind started to pick up strong around noon and I switched to my ultralight spinning reel and managed a couple more Longear using Gulp Alive Worms. Fish were hanging around brush piles by the deeper pockets of water. The Longear were staging at the end of small rapids. All fish were released.

12-14-18. Finished the week by fishing a local Rainbow Trout Stocking. Fish were active and I was quickly able to catch five trout for the dinner table. Caught a bunch and only kept five. All fish were caught on ultralight tackle using a Gold Super Duper Lure.

Always a great feeling when I can fish all three of my days off!

Great report Laker, as always. Say, what size Super Duper Lure do you use for trout ? The smallest ones seem awful light for casting. Also, do you just tie it on, or use a leader ? Thanks in advance...

Vogey: I use a 1 1/4" inch. I tie it directly to the line.
