What kind of sealant should I use for the engine bolts thru the transom?

Most common 3M 5200 or 3M 4200, there are other brands also, 5200 once cured (takes a while) is tough stuff and not just your plain old silicone

5200 is known to be permanent, I think Id go with 4200...

5200 is an adhesive, not a sealant. You can't imagine how hard 5200 is to get off once it's cured up.
4200 is for sealing.

4200 Sealant Use 4200....
NOT 5200 !!!!!!!!! As Pat said, its an adhesive. Sets up hard & WILL crack & you almost have to use a chisel & hammer to remove it.

i use 3M 4200 on my installs.


bullet uses 5200 and it will take gel coat off with a jack plate..
