Okay this is kind of a multi-part question.
How many people run an external transducer on their trolling motor?
If you do, have you cut a transducer cable? (I have!)
Consider this a bit of market research for an idea I have developed and prototyped for a cable guard. I am curious if this is something others would be interested in having. I ran one on my boat this year and it held up well, it also protects the cable as you pull it across the end of the trolling motor mount. The initial one was on my Ultrex with a Humminbird SI transducer.
Let me know your thoughts or if I am full of you know what!
Thanks.

Yes I have cut several. It really all came down to the bracket shifting or getting knocked loose. I now buy a good mounting bracket and never had a problem. There is also already a system being sold that keeps the wiring from coming in contact with the blade. Not sure what your idea is and how it would compete with that one.

Hey Bobby thanks for your input. I use a Transducer Shield on my trolling motor, but found that rock or miscellaneous metal under water is not nice to a cable on the side!
More in the near future!

I have. Now use this. Golf club bag tube. Determine length needed and cut off excess. Split down middle. Secure around trolling motor shaft/transducer wiring with zip ties. Also serves to camouflage chrome T/M shaft.
