Zoom super speed craw or speed craw for regular jig type fishing and zoom paddle tail junior fluke for a more swimming type presentation.

Ever since Uncle Josh stopped producing pork lures and trailers, I began pouring my own or using grubs or creature baits with different actions. Anyone have favorites? I have found a product I am looking forward to trying out. A company named Leatherbaits has products shaped like the pork trailers but made out of leather. I ordered some to try out. The main thing I liked about the product was the action it had in underwater video and the fact that they say the leather never dries out like the old pork trailers and it can be used over and over. The leather is thinner than I thought it was going to be but that is probably why it has good action. After saying that I have already been to some craft stores to look at rolls of different colors and thicknesses of leather to see if it is worthwhile for me to try to cut my own size and shapes and thicknesses of baits to try out.

Thanks for the suggestions. Some companies have duplicated the pork frog in soft plastic and the action is pretty much the same. Many anglers believe the skin and fat help fish hold on longer and it's possible, but I never wait to see if that is so. The first feel of a strike and I set the hook. Of the trailers mentioned, I noticed that they fall into two categories: tails that flutter (like the delta shaped pork tails) and action tails that flap and cause the jig to roll back and forth similar to a crankbait with wide bill. Either can be used with a swim retrieve or jigging off bottom. I'm not sure if either action is better having caught bass on both, but variety is nice no matter. Never tried using a swimbait like the Smash tail as a trailer. Might have to. I don't have to worry about running out of trailers since I've made molds of the ones I use most and in most preferred colors: Original Uncle Josh #1, 11, 101 pork frog Flapping double tail:

Strike King Rage Craws, both sizes depending on jig weight.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

You can also cut your own into any shape you want from an old chamois. Then color them with magic marker. Super action, last a long time, and catch a lot of fish. Not as good as pork, but almost.
