there is nothing wrong with folks that like to fish a trail with other folks with boats like them everybody cant plunk down 70 k for a boat an 60k for a truck to enter a tournament. if you think back a lot of years the only reason BASS raised the hp limit on their pros boats is because the line to buy a 20 ft boat with a 150 motor on it wasnt very long.

I'm thinking it is probably aimed at young anglers just getting started in the sport.

If that is the intent then I salute the effort.

My little thing would be king of that tournament. I've run a 150 to a 225 Pro Max on it.
With a 150 on it you would have a 20 foot boat and 70 mph and will take rough water with or better than many 21 footers.

Oh, then you turn the key off. It is not as stable as almost any of the regular bass boats.
Nevermind.

I think this might be the industrys first attempt at pulling back the reins on some of these big expensive boats. More people might get into tournament fishing if they can do so for less money than it appears to take now. I personally believe you can catch them as good from a 10k rig as you can from an 80k rig but everybody has their opinion.

They do? Or is it like any other tournament but it has horsepower restrictions.

I have no problem with it and hope they succeed.

Thanks for letting me borrow your boat buddy... LOL

You think The Industry wants to pull back the reins on people spending large amounts of money on expensive rigs? I think just the opposite!

Ha Ha. The industry isn't pulling back, they are simply trying to get a guy that would wait and buy a used boat with a 200 or better by offering a new 150 powered boat for the same money. Nope, the industry is trying to snatch a part of the used boat market.

its probly not that everyone wants to get a trophy more like folks would want to fish against other weekend fishermen that are more aligned with their skillset an time on the water without being a regular donator at some of the big trails.

Wrong again.

So, if I fish 4-5 days a week. Average 50+ tournaments a year. Im not allowed to own a cash boat that fits in my garage? My skill set diminished when I traded my FX21 for a TZX190?

Its guys with this mentality that get smoked when I fish against them. Just sayin

I wish you would go ahead and make the Elites.
It seems like yesterday, that you were on here asking how to cast a baitcaster.

BASS and FLW have a 250hp limit, how is that any different than this league? Hint, it's not. So much for the "level the field" argument or the "participation trophy" junk. Come to think of it even MLF has boat and hp restrictions. Blowing all these arguments out the water

ABA themselves used the level playing field comments in their own press release.
