. That’s a lure retriever. WTF Steez? jk! Ok, never seen one like that before. If it's anything like the rest of them, I end up throwing them in the lake. My a-rig lure retriever is pulling really hard on 65 lb braid. Exactly! With 65lb braid, I've only lost one of them. Like I said you end up pulling the hook straight and getting the rig back. thats a new way to store your A rig.. not a lure retriever. you put the hooks in the slots, and squeeze the wires into the middle of it. Bingo ! Go to Lake Fork Tackle's web site and look it up, there's a youtube video of it. so if I was to start throwing an A-Rig, what kind of areas should I be throwing them in? I like to throw them on points or parallel to grass line breaks and parallel to creek drop offs and ledges, and when I say points, get on top of the point and throw out to the deep and let it sink, then reel it back in when it hits bottom.

An O-ring is a much cheaper solution to storage.

Twist tie for storage the ones that you get when you open up your kids toys hahaha. I use Hog Farmer rigs seem to be the most durable with the best components. 1/8oz V&M jig heads for me they are the best heads for holding the small swimbaits on

I just slide them in the left over cardboard from a roll of paper towels to store them.

I like the flash mob jr., I have caught a pile of fish on them and even some really big stripers. The hogfarmers and all the high dollar a rigs are pointless to me when I can go to wal-mart and get the flashmob jr.'s for like $10 each where a hog farmer is like $30...Also, I like the owner jig heads, but someone mentioned light wire around timber, that is pro tip of the day right there.

+1 for flash mob jr's. No need to go expensive on umbrella rigs when the cheap flash mobs works so well.
For fishing them in timber, relax when you bump something. If it starts pulling back then go ahead and swing into it. If it doesn't, just hold steady till you troll over the top of it and lightly jig it up and down. 9/10 the weight of the rig will dislodge itself. Lure knockers (I use an 18ft telescopic retriever) get almost everything else. There's no need to jerk at every bump; they'll pretty well hook themselves with the exposed hooks anyway and you'll avoid burying the hooks deeper in wood and risk losing the whole rig when that bump turns out to be timber. I almost exclusively throw the umbrella from now until about March on the deep clear timber-filled lakes I fish and probably lose 2 to 3 rigs a year from being snagged. The arms usually break off from being mangled while landing fish before the rig is lost to timber.

With the O-ring.....I dont even bother removing it while fishing
Slide it up near the head for fishing and then back down toward the hooks for storage.
Quicker than wire ties or gear ties.

Hog Farmer is the way to go. Ive had bass pull arms out of flash mob jrs & snaps pulled apart. Also winning $100k on a Hog Farmer might swing my bias. Lol Bite Me jig heads & Xcite Shad Nasty swimbaits & you are ready to whacked!
