I cook a fair number of wings during football season. Over the past year or 2 I have noticed a lot more feathers on the wings I buy. Last batch from Tyson was the worst. Usually I just find them on the tips of the wings. Now I am finding them on the winglets too and they are not just little feathers. I think that in order to lower production cost the chicken processors are letting them slide through.

Are you buying from Walmart?

I get my wings from Kroger which are pilgrims pride I think.

They come standard on hooters wings also. Which is one reason I’ll never eat there again.

I can remember the smell of singeing the feathers on the gas stove. A very unpleasant odor.

Those " free range " chickens were so tasty.

I've switched to "air chilled" Smart chicken wing products found at Albertsons.

Not only do they taste fresher, haven't found any pin feathers on them, and they cost about .30lb less than Sandersons or Tyson.

You eat the wing and use the feather quill to pick the meat out of your teeth. Come on man get with the program!

Neighbor and I had this discussion last weekend after I told him that I had a opossum in the garage. Never eaten a opossum but I can tell you that groundhog is greasy. A seven course meal in WV is a opossum and a 6 pack. Road kill preferably. I knew a dude once that was born and raised in west Tx. He refused to eat anything that had feathers.
