monofilament with those type of baits. A little stretch is not a bad thing for that application.

I have gone to McCoys Mean Green Co-Poly on just about everything you mentioned and use it for my jig & soft plastics as well.

I have pretty much done the same thing but use the Mean Green on all of my moving baits and Extra Clear on my flipping baits.

Mono for Spinnerbaits and topwaters
Fluro for CB's, SquareBills, Jigs and Worms, etc.
I only have braid anymore on my Punch/Flip Rod, a 916UBR. Otherwise MBR's get mono, and JWR's get fluoro for the most part.

@361V - Mean Green is good stuff, but have seem a lot of McCoys's stuff in general on clearance in a lot of places, I wonder if they are going out of business?

I use copolymer lines for all my moving baits. The same one I found back in 2000. McCoyos Mean Greed is the best I have found for moving baits. Good amount of stretch, tuffer than a boot, VERY LOW MEMORY and lighter diameter than same test monos. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

12lb Sniper for cranks. Don't like Tatsu on crankbaits.

Mainly for SB's and CB's I will use Super Silver Thread AN 40 copolymer in green line. I listened to Jimmy Houston one day in a seminar that said exactly this, "Green line is the only color line that cannot be detected by underwater photography". Is it the truth? Don't know, I've never had a camera that takes pics underwater.

McCoys mean green is the best I have used for moving baits and I tested out a bunch of different lines over the years. It has good strength, controlled stretch, and low memory.

I do also use fluorocarbon line (Invizx) for throwing crank baits as well, usually a 6XD or deeper crank bait.

I use fluorocarbon for crankbaits 95% of the time. The only time I use mono or copolymer for cranks is if I need to keep the bait up in the water column, above cover. For spinnerbaits, I pretty much use 16-20# fluorocarbon 100% of the time. The only time I'll use something different is if I go to Falcon. I sometimes use 20# Big Game or 17# CXX there.

I think the knot that you use is more important than brand of line. I use sunline sniper fluorocarbon on just about every thing I throw. But I had to learn how to tie a knot other than the palomar knot.

Used to use Yozuri hybrid for jerkbaits and shaky head. Neutrally buoyant. Switched to Pline CX for those applications, mostly because its more widely available and they are very similar in performance, but Pline CX has less memory.

If you learn how to tie a Palomar knot correctly, it will work just fine for fluorocarbon lines.

McCoys Mean Green is better than the Yo-Uri hybrid.

That's interesting, I've had no issues with Palomar and Fluoro, and use FC Sniper quite a bit. I know there are a lot of "Fluro-recommended" knots, but Palomar always worked well for me. The Zona/Double Clinch knot is also a good one, as well as the Shin Fukae knot for tying braid/fluoro leader.
