I'm not real familiar with Pascal (the language SASPlanet is written in) nor the Navionics API, but their code does not appear to implement the API correctly. It looks like Navionics might have updated their API in June, SASPlanet hasnt released an update since 2016
I was able to see the Navionics maps on there last year

I wouldnt be surprised if Navionics changed their API when they realized it allowed people to create geospatially referenced images (essentially allowing people to create bootleg Navionics cards - some people might call that theft)

7.2.2 Restrictions against Data Export or Copying.
(a) No Unauthorized Copying, Modification, Creation of Derivative Works, or Display of the Content. You must not copy, translate, modify, or create a derivative work (including creating or contributing to a database) of, or publicly display any Content or any part thereof except as explicitly permitted under these Terms.
(b) No Pre-Fetching, Caching, or Storage of Content. You must not pre-fetch, cache, or store any Content, except that you may store: (i) limited amounts of Content for the purpose of improving the performance of your Maps API Implementation if you do so temporarily, securely, and in a manner that does not permit use of the Content outside of the Service; and (ii) any content identifier or key that the Maps APIs Documentation specifically permits you to store.
(c) With reference to the restrictions described in a) and b) above, You cannot allow the End User accessing your Maps API Implementation to print and geo-reference our Content in a way that would generate a map usable for navigation. This section of the terms of service appears to specifically prohibit exporting data via their API for the purpose of creating an overlay for use on a chartplotter

In contrast, Google's Earth Engine API does not appear to impose any similar restrictions as they consider it a service they provide for free to help people more easily work with publicly available data

Well, that restriction is certainly understandable. Navionics must have spent money charting these waters. I just hope that data didn't just come from users contributing to that data freely. I wonder how sasplanet had that chart data in the first place? (russian hackers)

It's possible their key issued by Navionics just expired or something. If you go to Settings -> Map Settings while trying to view the Navionics maps, you can see in Params.txt and GetUrlScript.txt that they are sending a key and data requests to Navionics. Maybe someone with more time than me could figure out how to make it work again.
It appears their Google Earth implementation is broken now too.

Excuse my ignorance, But, would this effect one's ability to create a trail or waypoint in google earth, and then overlay on top of a Navionics image on a Lowrance unit.
I'm guessing that it wouldn't, since the trail or waypoint is added to the Lowrance unit hard drive and not the Navionics chip. My concern would be some sort of compatibility issue.
Thank you

Thank you Waypoints and trails are GPS data, not map data. They have nothing to do with each other. You get those whether you have a map background or not.

Thank you No, that's just a data conversion from kml to usr. You don't even need SASPlanet to do this, you can create the kml in Google Earth Pro and convert with GPSBabel
