 Help with Minn Kota Quick release .

I have a Terrova I-pilot , 60 inch shaft , 24 volt , 80 lbs thrust . I bought it used and am trying to install it on my boat . I purchased the MKA-21 quick release and the part that is supposed to bolt to the trolling motor aluminum base does not match the existing bolt pattern ? Do you guys just drill new holes in the trolling motor base ? or is there a quick release that fits without modification ?

Never mind . The sales man told me the small square bolts to the trolling motor and the larger plate bolts to the boat , which is completely opposite of how its supposed to mount . Apparently an unopened box has installation instructions . I hate getting old and feeble minded . If I had ever seen one installed correctly this would not have happened . Thanks . Hope you all get a good laugh out of this fubar .
