Nov 24: Fished from about 10AM to 4PM. Looked at Long Ridge West, Key Ranch Drop-off, 3-Jug Hump, Merimac Point, Spillway Hump, the Rock Pile and Enchanted Isle Ridge. The only spot where I caught significant numbers of fish was Long Ridge West. I started there and ended there and ended up with 50 fish: 39 whites, 4 legal hybrids, 3 short hybrids, 2 nice yellow bass, a catfish and a buffalo. The technique was vertical - lifting a #4 silver Mepps up from the bottom and then letting it fall back down. Most strikes were when I was lifting it. Water depth was 22- 23 fow and water temp was 56 degrees F. Hitting the boat with my foot helped - guess I need a thumper.

Nov 26: It was cold and windy from the north, so I slipped out of my boat stall and eased around to Saint Annes East, which is protected from the north wind. I caught 25 fish in a couple of hours. Two thirds were fishing vertically in 22 fow. The others were caught casting out and retrieving back in in 13 to 15 fow. Problem with the latter approach is that fish were moving around a lot. Caught fish - mostly really big fat whites - 16 inches - with #4 silver Mepps.

Nov 28: Went out about 10 AM when wind was only 10 mph out of the SW, then it shot up to 20 to 25. So, I could go home or accept the challenge to find and catch fish in protected water. I decide on the latter and began by looking at Campbell's Hump, Dam Drop-off and Dam Ridge but nada. Then checked Staubach Hump and the A-Frame. Still nothing. Ventured out to Long Ridge West but wind and waves were too much for iPilot. Needed to get really close to shore. I had caught fish once before in high SW winds hiding behind Merimac Point, so I headed there. I managed to find some fish there about 50 yards off its NE shoreline in 16 to 18 fow. Beating on the boat and fishing vertically with my Mepps I caught 25 big whites, 5 legal hybrids, a short hybrid and a 3 lb LMB in about 3 hours of fishing. Fish kept moving around, so I had to keep moving to find them again. Air temp warmed up and it turned out to be an enjoyable day.
