Got a late start today around noon. I was not sure I would even go, because the wind was blowing out of the west @ 20 mph, cloudy with a light rain, almost a full moon the night before, Conditions looked bleak. No sooner than I hit the open water, I was greeted by huge flocks of birds. This time it was Redfish and Speckled Trout! One keeper Speck, One Slot Red, a bunch of 18-19 Reds, then the birds disappeared. Went to the first marsh drain where there was nobody around. No tide movement at all, then about 1:30, the tide started moving out. The fishing turned on! Every cast for about an hour, I caught a Redfish. I was fishing a tandem Gulp set up. I caught 2 at a time, 4-5 times. The Reds were at the upper end of the slot, and 1over 30. After a while the Reds were getting smaller and smalller. My original intent was to just catch a couple of Flounder, so I hit some Flounder spots, and not a bite. I could not even lose a live Shrimp? I get bored easily, so I forgot about catching Flounder and went back to catching Reds under the birds, and hoping to catch some more Speckled Trout mixed in. Just caught more Reds, but they ranged from 18-24, it was getting late, had to leave the birds working and the Reds biting. Water temp. 64 degrees. Red Run, Red Run!
