Just replaced my batteries on my F250, purchased Jan 2015

2014 Ram 1500 bought in July 2014. Battery died April 2018. No signs of dying. Just died. Couldn't jump it either.

Almost all batteries are now warranted for 3years. No prorating. And I have found they last about 3 years and a week.

2-4 years in Texas.

This could have been a 40 year old thread, and the answers would have been pretty much the same. It doesn't seem like much progress has been made when it comes to automobile batteries lasting. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

For what it's worth, I did have to replace the battery a couple weeks ago.

I bet the batteries in my 2015 GMC leave me stranded in the near future after reading this thread.

My Mopar battery lasted 9 years, so I believe you. I replaced it with an Optima & it lasted about 3 years. I was very disappointed. Went to Autozone & they sold me one of their store batteries with a 3 year replacement warranty. They also installed it for me free. We will see how that works out.

My wife's battery in her car is 4 years old & still like new. She is currently shopping for a new car & I hope the battery lasts a few more days.

Who else remembers the old, put an aspirin in each cell to rejuvenate the battery ?

My car diesel's computer tells me my battery voltage is low if I let it sit for more than two days without driving it.

I'm going to replace it soon with a battery I've assembled from Lithium cells. Not for the weight as much as for just experimenting. The battery should last longer than I will.

I just change them out at 5 years. Figured I got my life out of it.

Ford Super Duty... the Motorcraft batteries have gone out just at about 3 years on the last three sets. Two per change out (diesel) so I'm used to it. I've been fortunate that the last two went out just before the 3 yr replacement warranty expires.

The Interstates in our other truck haven't done any better.

The AGM batteries that I have in another (seldom driven) vehicle gets a battery tender on it and it's gone on 7 years now. Just don't know how long it will hold a charge off the tender this old.

07 tundra battery lasted 160,000 miles or 5-6 years.
17 Tundra battery lasted 35,000 miles 1 1/2 years.
It's a [censored] shoot. Ya never know. Same with boat's
