Braved the winds to go out on Hubbard today. Got there early enough before the winds and got bait pretty easy... one throw... the rest of the day was not easy, at all. Winds picked up and the chop was bad. Couldn’t get my drift down below 1.2 even with drift sock. Decided to hit some coves. Found them in the back of a Cove in about 3 FOW. Wore them out.
Caught 20+ in the 3-5lb range and 2 that were about 8lbs. Nothing big though.
99% of the time I’m drifting in deep water for big fish. CPR. Must say that I was proud of myself for adapting today and catching fish. It was a tough day but maybe I’m a better fisherman than I was yesterday because of it.
