If this is the salt water Cedar Bayou try in the salt water fishing section. Someone is more likely to answer you there. Like you I've heard conflicting reports throughout the summer. You'd think Hurricane Harvey would have opened it up more. I did hear of some pretty good fishing reports from there about mid summer.
