Took a late in the day trip to Bastrop today. Beautiful weather, beautiful water. The grass hasn't fallen back an inch. The water was cold at no more than 60 degrees.

Started out at the dam. There is a band of hydrilla (?) about 15 feet from the water line. It is a solid 10 feet of veggies. My Wife caught one small bass there.

Partly cloudy turned into mostly cloudy.

We moved around but it was the same story everywhere. Overabundant grass and cold water. I caught a small dink and we moved on to the outfall. There was no movement and no increase in water temperature. I don't even think they were recirculating at the plant. I did catch a nice 3-pounder on the rocks, though.

We tried a few other spots but lack of bites and an increase in the wind, drove us off the water. I don't know when we will be back.

Be safe,
Rayzor

Youll get as many bites as you want if you punch all that hydrilla, isolated patches are almost a guarantee bite.
