I have a used replacement trailer. The long center bunks are the same as my current trailer but the outside are different.
Can the outside bunks be eliminated

Just my thoughts but if there is just one board on each side and that one board gives away while bouncing down the road where would the boat end up? The two boards on each side help each other support the boat.

The more boards supporting the hull the better off you are. Just make sure they fit the hull.

Trailers are manufactured to provide the proper support for the hull while being trailered. Eliminating the proper support could lead to hull damage.
