I went out there 2 or 3 weeks ago and it sucked. So much new water that i couldn't find any fish, was hoping that with this break in rainfall that the fish would be back on some sort of pattern.

Plus #1.

All this rain has messed up a lot of water bodies and has played a negative factor in the late fall bite! On the bright side if there is no more flooding this upcoming spring bite should be FANTASTIC! thumb

Hell Yes! When compared to Canyon. Well I guess Canyon has bigger bass, but theres only like 10 in the entire lake. I can catch 20 dinks at Medina to every 1 dink at Canyon, I just cant figure it out.

Being that my great great grandfather was the first permanent settler of Bandera, my relatives have been fishing that lake for many years and my cousin taught me well. I know that lake inside out now and the fishing can be fantastic if you know where to fish and what to throw. It's like any other lake, once you learn it or figure it out it can be a piece of cake. That lake not only holds a lot of fish but there are some big'uns in that water. Tight lines everyone!

I've always said if you want to catch bass go to Medina, and if you just want to practice casting you go to Canyon.

Just one more cast!

As I was launching yesterday there was a weigh in at the state park. Out of the 8 or so boats I dont think any caught a keeper. Same with held true with me, the lake looks amazing though.

Its the Bandera County Park, its at the end of park road 37 in Plum Creek. It is almost always usable, however the ramp can be very flat at a lot of water levels. You can almost always launch from shore or just angle off the side of the ramp and be fine though.
